Glow in the dark As a figurative artist, I often explore the subject of the human body, emphasizing the effect of a sudden environmental change on its perception. In recent times I discovered myself struggling to react to the dark days we as the Jewish people are experiencing now, and looking for a source of empowerment. Body, movement and effort strengthen me. Observing others connects me to the universal essence of the human being, beyond individuality, culture, occupation, gender, while staying close to personality. Visually, I am inspired by Henry Moore's spectral images from the underground.
I draw from a nude model observation, using the technique of rapid oil painting with rough brush strokes allowing anatomical generalizations, feeling the body without physical contact, penetrating the deep layers of the human essence. The dynamic rhythm of the movement and the limiting timing of my work allow me to tap into the reality of the human state of being. Pushing off from the darkness of humanity, I move on towards the light. The released energy causes the recovery of the body, so the ability to cope, heal and to enjoy life increases.
